PX MkII XLS Utility Double Cab 4dr Man 6sp 4x4 1085kg 3.2DT Ford's big, muscular Ranger introduced new levels of all-round competence to the light-commercial market at its launch in 2011. Today it remains a tough workhorse ute that delivers an almost-car-like driving experience. The range covers ute and cab-chassis versions, as well as two and four-door cabs and is powered by either of two diesels: a 4WD-only 147kW/470Nm 3.2-litre five-cylinder or, in 2WD form, an 118kW/385Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder. Both offer the choice of six-speed manual or auto transmissions. A five-star ANCAP rating is helped along by six airbags (four in two-door models), as well as a full complement of electronic safety aids.

This Ranger XLS has been a Canberra region ute from new, and it's been set up properly for touring and work. It has an ARB bull bar with light bar and winch, a Safari snorkel, Aeroklas canopy, tow bar and tub liner.
